I'll put down some thoughts and opinions about books I'm reading here.
This classist propaganda from 1842 reads like dystopian satire now. The argument in favor of keeping nobles around is that there's no point in leaving nice things unenjoyed, and everyone's afraid workers will dirty up the nice things. Notably, the author imagines a utopia where class is assigned by lot in adulthood, and rank within a profession is based on merit. Available at Project Gutenberg.
